Haddingestraat 23, 9711 KCAndrew Combs is an American singer-songwriter from Dallas, Texas whose music is a mix of country, americana, indie folk and pop. Combs debuted in 2012 with an album full of beautiful country songs sung straight from the heart. Combs then grew by album and managed to find the general public with Canyons of My Mind. The most recent album, Dream Pictures, was written in the quiet moments of the night, combining the rawness of home-made recordings with sophisticated songwriting. Along with drummer Dom Billett, who also produced the album, Combs created an intimate atmosphere, with live-in-the-studio recordings of his vocals. The album is about contentment and self-acceptance, giving Combs room to dream. Back in 2017, he performed at TakeRoot. This concert, according to many, was one of the best shows of the festival.
Esther Rose: After spending her formative years in Michigan, Rose moved to New Orleans and got her start in music while being overwhelmed by the unparalleled energy of the city’s scene. Over the course of her first three records, an infatuation with traditional country gradually evolved into a more personal style and increasingly personal material. She eventually left New Orleans for New Mexico where the two-year writing process for Safe to Run unfolded. All the heaviness, sweetness, lightness and self-discovery that had led up to that moment came together in new songs. These songs slowed down to dig deeper and took on the intricate hues of a desert horizon as they came together.
