AJ Plug is an absolute powerhouse in the Dutch blues-rock and roots scene. In fact, she is regarded as one of the most impressive blues-rock ladies to emerge from the Dutch blues-rock and roots scene in recent years. Blues ambassador Johan Derksen describes her as “a natural talent” and consequently included her in his extensive theater tours. In 2019, AJ (Alexandra Jolanda) was diagnosed with cancer, but she has since recovered. The healing process led to the album “Killer King” (2021), which, as AJ herself says, is “An honest record, no bullshit.” Deservingly, “Killer King” was awarded ‘Best Blues Album 2021’ by the Dutch Blues Foundation.
