Book Presentation ‘De Democratische Markt’ by Lisa Herzog

This evening, Boekhandel Riemer Groningen presents in-store the book by Lisa Herzog: The Democratic Market. Herzog has conducted research in her capacity as a professor at the University of Groningen, approaching the subject from both a philosophical and an economic perspective. The subtitle, How greater economic equality can save our politics, speaks for itself and captures the essence of her lecture and book presentation.

The renowned French author Thomas Piketty expressed his praise after reading an early version of the book:

Lisa Herzog shows that our unequal economy poses a major threat to democracy — we have been downgraded to passive consumers instead of people actively shaping society.
