Dutch Classical Talent: Elizabeth Goh
De Oosterpoort
Trompsingel 27, 9724 DA GroningenSingaporean pianist Elizabeth Goh throws music, stories, and mime into a blender under the title *The Little Blue Notebook*, inspiring the listener to reflect on the role of imagination in a turbulent world. The jury of Dutch Classical Talent was delighted by her toy piano and surprising repertoire choice.
“With self-assurance, Elizabeth switches effortlessly between the toy piano and the full-sized concert grand piano. She makes the toy piano sound like a large, mature instrument and emphasizes the playful youthfulness of the concert grand. Or vice versa? In Elizabeth’s wondrous piano land, everything is turned upside down,” according to the jury.
music by Rudolf Escher, Sofia Gubaidulina, and George Crumb, among others, and new works by Matthias Spee and Apollon Kalamenios
Dutch Classical Talent
Dutch Classical Talent (formerly Vriendenkrans Concours and Het Debuut) is a development program for young Dutch top musicians. Among the laureates are renowned names such as Tania Kross, Lavinia Meijer, the Van Baerle Trio, and the Berlage Saxophone Quartet. Talent alone is not enough to reach the final; participants must bring distinctive and stimulating programs, vision, and a bit of guts. The presentation of the DCT Award will take place during the festive final on Sunday, June 6, 2027, at TivoliVredenburg (Utrecht).
