With their grand folk rock sound, Irish roots and sweeping melodies, Kingfishr have quickly become one of the most striking new acts to emerge from Ireland. In 2025, the band impressed audiences at ESNS and later returned for a sold-out show in the main hall of De Oosterpoort. That clearly left audiences wanting more, as Kingfishr return to Groningen in 2026 with new music and this time two shows.

Formed at the University of Limerick, Kingfishr create melodic folk rock infused with traditional Irish influences. The band combines intimate songwriting with expansive arrangements and has grown rapidly in recent years, leading to sold-out shows and millions of streams. Their live performances stand out for their strong harmonies and close connection with the audience. On debut album Halcyon, the trio brings together traditional influences and modern indie rock.
