Nacht van de Sociologie 2026
Stadslab Groningen
Suikerlaan 15, 9743 DA GroningenThe theme of Night 2026 is **Behind Closed Doors**! On Friday, March 6th, the twenty-second edition of the Night of Sociology will take place at Stadslab in Groningen. Once again, we have a fantastic program for you this year, with a little sneak peek😌:
OnlyFans may seem like an easy way to make money online, but behind this image lies more: exploitation, coercion, and manipulation. Criminologist and data analyst Michelle Rasch will take us through her research on these platforms. Who is behind the scenes, what are e-pimps, and what really happens behind closed doors?
Jacques Wallage knows better than anyone how politics really works. From local to national positions, he spent years at the heart of power. During this Night, he will take us to the places where decisions are truly made: out of view of the cameras, behind closed doors.
Alexander Noordijk shares a personal story about faith, identity, and the clash between them. He talks about his experiences with “homosexual healing” and the journey he took afterward. What happens when important parts of your life are hidden from public view?
Besides societal insights, there’s also room for humor. Comedian Job Spoelstra, philosophy lecturer and finalist of the Groningen Student Cabaret Festival, will make you laugh **and** think.
Between the speakers, there will be time for a drink and a dance to music by DJ Skies & Squares 🎶
We are really looking forward to the Night, so bring your friends, family, neighbors, and acquaintances! Doors open from 19:30 to 19:45, and the Night lasts until 01:00 ☺️
