Tunisia, 2015. Nizar Nouri walks with his 13-year-old nephew Achraf and their goats along the Mejri path on the rocky slopes of Mount Mghila. They are on the border between government-controlled territory and territory controlled by jihadists. Nizar wants to show Achraf the unspoilt paradise that reigns in these mountains. They lie naked on the warm rocks, swim in the pools of water in the rocky valleys and talk about the time when the ocean covered the mountain. But disaster strikes mercilessly. Suddenly, Achraf wakes up next to Nizar's severed head. ‘Show this to your mother and maybe you will all learn not to come here anymore,’ he is told by the jihadists, who disappear as quickly as they appeared. Paralyzed by shock, Achraf thoughtlessly picks up Nizar's head and travels back to their village.
