You will recognise highlife band Santrofi by their 70s sound, backed by polyrhythmic afrobeats and groovy guitar sounds. Highlife is a lively and rhythmic style of music from West Africa, characterised by its mix of traditional African rhythms and Western musical influences. Besides bringing upbeat, infectious music with inescapable grooves across Europe, Santrofi is coming to De Oosterpoort on 5 June!

Producer and bassist Emmanuel Ofori, gathered around him a group of talented musicians who use traditional and modern instruments to dynamically blend melodies and rhythms into a danceable whole. Especially during live performances, Santrofi bursts with joyful energy. After their first international performance at the German Fusion Festival, many other music festivals followed such as Into The Great Wide Open, Amsterdam Roots and Down The Rabbit Hole.
