In 2001, the Netherlands became the first country in the world to open up marriage to same-sex couples. Gay rights! Literally. Beyond equal rights, this was especially great news for the average decisive lesbian who moves in with her partner after just two weeks. Slay! Yet, only 38 countries have followed suit in the meantime, and we have to ask ourselves: can marriage not be a bit more 'queer'?
 
For Say Yes to the Lez, Annefleur Schipper and Vera Siemons transform into queer masters of ceremonies from De Lesbische Liga, putting the institution of marriage under a firm lesbian magnifying glass. From relationship tests and gay-lofts (instead of vows) to a first dance like never before, and the ritual cutting of an actual wedding-eierbal... And of course, plenty of queer pop culture where the choice is up to the audience: do I say yes or do I say no?
