Silbersee & Consensus Vocalis
Stadsschouwburg
Turfsingel 86, 9711 VXToon Tellegen, the successful author who tapped into a new genre with his wonderful animal stories, wrote a compelling story for Silbersee as you would expect from him: accessible, slightly philosophical and charmingly beautiful. The first-person narrator, played by Kees Hulst, has a special encounter with an angel and then says goodbye to the “unreality” that, according to this angel, life is.
Corrie van Binsbergen composed the music of Requiem for Unreality, which will be performed by eight singers from Consensus Vocalis, assisted by pianist Albert van Veenendaal, four all-round performers (vocals, tuba, doodas, theremin) from Silbersee and Van Binsbergen herself. Despite her focus on composing in recent years, Van Binsbergen picks up her guitar once more for this performance. The music is colorful: from jazz to rock to experimental to pure harmonies in the style of Arvo Pärt.
