Together with the French star pianist Jonathan Fournel, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels in 2021, she forms a golden team. A duo for whom music is not a demonstration of virtuosity, but one that takes you on a journey through different worlds, styles, and moods during this concert.
The concert opens with Stravinsky’s Suite Italienne: light, danceable music with a nod to the Baroque, but presented in a fresh, modern guise. This is followed by Fauré’s warm and melodic First Violin Sonata, his breakthrough as a chamber music composer. After the intermission, the atmosphere changes. Throughout his life, Brahms was fascinated by Roman music, something you can hear reflected in his compelling Third Violin Sonata. The finale is Ravel’s spectacular Tzigane, a fiery violin solo that culminates in a swirling dialogue with the piano.
