Brian Fennell, a.k.a. SYML, is a singer-songwriter from Wales, whose name is derived from the Welsh word for ‘simple.’ He grew up in the United States but enjoys experimenting with his roots. This results in melancholic, graceful indie folk. He combines piano with minimalist synths and emotional songwriting. On March 29, he will perform again in Groningen.

His second album from 2023, The Day My Father Died, was described as ‘euphoric’ by NPR. The album features collaborations with various artists, such as Guy Garvey, Nickel Creek, and Charlotte Lawrence. Recently, he also released an EP called Infinity.
