Located on the corner of the Vismarkt and one of Groningen's most charming shopping streets, the Folkingestraat, you'll find Stadscafé Pronk. Here, you can enjoy a stylish and relaxed atmosphere throughout the day.
Stadscafé Pronk is housed in a particularly historic building. The first stones were laid around 1300, and the masonry from that time is still visible at the back of the building. Significant renovations took place between the 16th and 19th centuries, adding unique elements such as a monumental staircase built between 1740 and 1750 and exceptional stucco work from the 18th century. Interesting figures have resided in this building, including one of the university's first professors and the painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag.
Surrounded by history, you can enjoy from an extensive drinks menu, warm dishes, sandwiches, salads, and soups throughout the day, as well as a selection of snacks from 1:00 PM onwards. In addition to larger main courses, you can opt for a dinner experience featuring a variety of smaller shared-dining dishes. These can be enjoyed indoors or on the walled terrace behind the building. Furthermore, you can rent various spaces for meetings, parties, or other group events.
Stadscafé Pronk is open every day, from 11:00 AM on Mondays and Sundays, from 10:30 AM on Tuesdays to Thursdays, and from 10:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
