Joe Jackson is considered one of the greatest and most versatile talents in British pop music. The singer experiments with jazz, blues, pop, and electronic music. In the Netherlands, Jackson became known for albums like Night and Day and Body and Soul, as well as songs like Is She Really Going Out With Him, Be My Number Two, Stepping Out, Real Men, and Happy Ending.

At the end of 2023, he released his latest album; Mr. Joe Jackson presents: Max Champion in ‘What A Racket!’ the first performance in over 100 years of the songs of the forgotten Music Hall genius Max Champion. The accompanying “The Two Rounds Of Racket Tour” promises to be festive, fun, and unlike anything music lovers will see in the coming year (or any other year). The show consists of two parts: a solo set by Joe Jackson featuring his own songs, and a set based on the new album What A Racket! featuring Joe and a nine-piece band.

Max Champion Max Champion was born in 1882 in the East End of London and is believed to be related to the great Victorian entertainer Harry Champion. As an emerging artist, he shared the stage with big stars like Gus Ellen and Vesta Tilley, but his career (like the era of the Music Hall itself) was prematurely ended by the First World War, and his songs fell into obscurity. That is until 2014 when Max Champion’s sheet music began to surface: first in Malta, then in England, and intriguingly, in Belgium, where Max likely met his end in the trenches. By 2019, enough songs had been recovered for Joe Jackson to revive them.
