Timmerdorp 2025 in Groningen – Adventure and Creativity for All Children

This year, Timmerdorp Groningen is all about adventure, creativity, and inclusion! From August 4th to 21st, 2025, children between the ages of 8 and 12 can unleash their creativity in a large, adventurous playground filled with wooden huts, exciting building projects, and outdoor activities. And the best part? Timmerdorp is for everyone, including children with wheelchairs.

What Makes Timmerdorp Groningen Unique?

Timmerdorp is not just a building event – it’s a full experience where children can hammer, build, climb, paint, and much more. In the first two weeks, we organize the Outdoor Play Days, where children can do everything from building a castle in the air to cooking on a campfire. There is also plenty of space for children to build their own hut or even make a tipi (with or without nails). With an accessible terrain that is wheelchair-friendly, everyone can join in!

In the third week, the village will be expanded, and we will have room for up to 100 children! Here, there will be plenty of hammering, sawing, and building, but also cooking in the beautiful outdoor kitchen where children can cook for the group together with the chef.

Practical Information about Timmerdorp Groningen:

• Dates and Location: Timmerdorp takes place in the Westpark near Tuinindestad, with the highlight being the final party on Saturday, August 23rd!
• Periods:
  • Period 1: Monday, August 4th – Thursday, August 7th
  • Period 2: Monday, August 11th – Thursday, August 14th
  • Period 3: Monday, August 18th – Thursday, August 21st
• Day Passes: There are a limited number of day passes available for the first two weeks. These can be purchased at the box office at Tuinindestad or reserved by email for wheelchair users. Ticket prices range from €10 to €80, depending on whether you have a Stadjerspas.
• Program: Each day starts at 10:00 AM and ends at 4:00 PM, with a shared lunch and playtime. Early drop-off is available from 8:30 AM, and late pick-up is available until 5:30 PM after Timmerdorp.

What Can You Expect from Timmerdorp Groningen?

• Inclusive for everyone: From children with wheelchairs to the true adventurers, everyone can join in. We have well-accessible roundabouts and ramps leading to key areas like the tools, the juice bar, the kitchen, and the chill tent.
• AdventureLab: The heart of Timmerdorp is the AdventureLab, where children can turn their ideas into reality. Think of crafting, clay modeling, painting, and building the wildest creations.
• Safe & more fun than ever: In this safe and fun environment, there are plenty of supervisors to help children and ensure they always feel welcome.

Timmerdorp Groningen Closing Party – August 23rd

Mark your calendar! On Saturday, August 23rd, the traditional closing party will take place, where all the children will return to bring Timmerdorp back to life for the last time. A perfect conclusion to an amazing adventure!
