Volunteer Hay and Pruning Work
Lauwersoog
Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer, Lauwersoog 9976 VTHay and Pruning Work at Land van Juffrouw Ali – Lauwersmeer
On Saturday, November 1, we’ll tackle several tasks together in the beautiful Lauwersmeer area. In a number of rare orchid meadows, we’ll remove the hay and prune the forest edges. Without these efforts, the fields would quickly become overgrown and rare plants would disappear.
We’ll also prepare the outdoor area around the Lauwersnest Activity Center for winter and start building brushwood hedges made from willow branches in the hut-building forest. In short, there’s plenty to do, and we could really use your help!
If you enjoy being active outdoors and want to contribute to nature conservation, join us for this rewarding day in the fresh air.
Participants should bring their own waterproof clothing, sturdy footwear (boots are recommended), and food and drinks for in the field. The organization provides a warm start with coffee, tea, and cookies, and delicious soup will be waiting for you afterwards.
Working and playing in nature offers a sense of freedom and adventure. It’s a foundation for learning and developing an active, healthy lifestyle.
