The Prinsenhof, one of the most iconic historical buildings in Groningen, has a rich and varied history. Originally housing a religious order in the 15th century, it later served as a bishop's court before becoming the residence of the stadtholders of Groningen, the princes of Nassau. This is why the building is now known as the Prinsenhof. Today, the complex houses a four-star hotel, the beautiful Prinsentuin, and two restaurants.

One of these restaurants is Nassau. Located in the former sleeping quarters of the princes of Nassau, with a view of the Prinsentuin, this fine dining restaurant exudes luxury and elegance. Here, a high-quality cuisine is fitting, led by chef Christian de Vries, who creates flavorful combinations with regional products. Guests can enjoy these offerings via the experience menu or à la carte. In addition, Restaurant Manager Jeroen Bekkenkamp and sommelier-vinologist Ronald Aikes-van Dijk ensure acclaimed hospitality and the right wine pairings.

In short, the luxurious atmosphere, high-quality cuisine, and hospitality provide a complete experience. That is why the Michelin Guide mentions that finesse is in Nassau's DNA. In addition, the restaurant receives 14 points in the Gault & Millau guide.

Restaurant Nassau is open from Tuesday to Saturday, with arrival possible between 18:00 and 20:00. Handy to know for summer visitors, there is a summer closure from July 30 to August 26.
