Vive la Vie

In Oosterstraat in Groningen, you'll find everything from eateries and charming little stores to Hotel Schimmelpenninck Huys, and Club Vera. For true gastronomy, you are also in in the right street, since Vive La Vie is located here. 

At this culinary spot, the French kitchen serves as the foundation but is combined with surprising flavors inspired by Asia. The dishes are as seasonal and fresh as possible. Therefore, every day, they work with a creative surprise menu of 5, 6, or 7 courses. Sommelier Lara Sportel ensures the right wine and food pairing. 

The head chef of the restaurant is Jeroen Sportel. In 2023, he was named JRE Chef of the Year, part of an international club of talented chef-owners. Under his leadership since 2014, Vive la Vie is listed in the Michelin Guide and scores 14.5 out of 20 points in the Gault & Millau, making it one of the most prestigious restaurants in the city of Groningen. 

Restaurant Vive la Vie is open from Wednesday to Saturday starting at 18:00. The 5-course menu is only available on Wednesday and Thursday.
