Astronaut started as the runaway singer-songwriter project of Pelle Bast. The now six-member band, with a huge DIY mentality, has already reached the main stages of Into The Great Wide Open and Wilde Weide thanks to their debut album. The Dutch-language songs show depth and insight, yet retain a naïve charm in its most beautiful form. They received a glowing review for their show at Noorderslag and with their second album De Lucht, they sold out their first headline tour.

On this album, Astronaut sings about city life, dreams that clash with reality, and the search for connection. The band pairs philosophical themes with everyday images, as in the song "Een Filosofie van het Riool." Just as blood finds its way where it shouldn't, new songs keep emerging for Astronaut, and on the road to their third album, they are slowly becoming your new favorite underdog.
