Bertolf
De Oosterpoort
Trompsingel 27, 9724 DABertolf’s love for music began with bluegrass. His father played almost nothing else, and the family home was filled with guitars, mandolins, and banjos. Recently, the singer-songwriter and guitarist traveled to Nashville to finally realize his lifelong dream: recording an album with his heroes, musicians he has listened to all his life. Among them were dobro virtuoso Jerry Douglas, violin genius Stuart Duncan, and bass legend Mark Schatz.
“Bluefinger” is the title of Bertolf’s new album. In the eponymous theater program, he presents his new work alongside the best songs and hits from his previous albums, all in acoustic bluegrass versions performed by the top musicians of the Dutch bluegrass scene. Bertolf also shares the history of bluegrass and plays gems from the genre.
