Admire animal skulls, make bath salts in the lab, experiment with a plasma ball, explore nature up close under the microscope, and much more. During the Christmas holidays, you are a researcher at the University Museum. Embark on a discovery in the craft and experiment room, naturally wearing a real lab coat!
Opening hours during Christmas Holidays
The craft and experiment room is open every day during the Christmas holidays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It is also open on Monday, December 23rd, and Monday, December 30th. The museum will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25th), Boxing Day (December 26th), and New Year's Day (January 1st).
Make Your Own Bath Salts
Need a warm bath during these cold winter months? In the lab, you can make delightful-smelling bath salts with fun colors. Will you choose apple or rose? Design your own combination!
Explore Nature Under the Microscope
In the microscope corner, see how beautiful nature is up close. View samples of plants, flowers, insects, and animals under the microscope. You can also bring something from home to examine!
Create an Optical Illusion and Learn to Write Invisibly
Sometimes you see an image, but it doesn’t quite make sense. For example, a line may seem longer than it really is. Your brain is tricking you! In the room, we show you various examples, and you can craft your own optical illusion and also learn how to write invisibly.
Assemble the Human Body and Admire Animal Skulls
Stomach, liver, kidneys, intestines, brain – we have many organs in our body. But what do they actually do? And where are they located? In the anatomy corner, you will find out, along with interesting facts about your body. There are also animal skulls for you to examine. How does the dental structure of a herbivore look?
Do Scientific Experiments
How does a plasma ball work? Why do the blades in a radiometer spin in response to light? How do you create a water tornado in bottles? In the research corner, you will get answers to these intriguing questions! You can also participate in the science quiz. Do you know what the largest animal on Earth is?
