Two performers are caught in a single scene, in which a customer orders a drink from a waiter. And then everything goes wrong. The scene is replayed – as if on a loop – over and over again, derailing further and further. Have they fallen into a nightmarish spiral or grotesque joke? Especially when the constant role reversal makes it unclear who is serving, and who is being served.

Directing this hilarious, explosive performance is Tim Etchells, founder of Forced Entertainment. This experimental theater company is getting raves all over the world, especially now that it is collaborating with the brilliant performance duo Bert & Nasi from France. ‘L’Addition’ plays with the mechanisms of theater and power relations. In the end, someone has to pay the bill.
