On May 24th, Collectief Activisme Groningen is organizing a powerful demonstration in Groningen. Groningen De Straat Op will begin at 2:00 PM at the Grote Markt. This demonstration will align with the action happening in Amsterdam on the same day. Part of the program will be in English, with translations available for English speakers.

What Are We Going to Do?

The demonstration will begin at 2:00 PM with an inspiring speaker program at the Grote Markt. At around 2:45 PM, we will start a march through the center of Groningen, which will end at the Noorderplantsoen, where the program will conclude.

Who is Organizing This Protest?

This protest is organized by Collectief Activisme Groningen, the same organization that led the demonstration on March 22nd. We are supported by various organizations, including:

• Amnesty Groningen
• Extinction Rebellion Groningen
• Groninger Studentenbond
• Dolle Mina’s Groningen
• Verzetje
• And other local and national initiatives

We are also supported by de*beweging, who are organizing the demonstration in Amsterdam.

Why Are We Taking to the Streets?

On May 24th, we will take to the streets en masse. We have had enough of the radical right-wing fearmongers and populists determining the political agenda in the Netherlands and worldwide. They threaten what should be self-evident: affordable housing, a livable world, and an open democracy. In short: our civil rights.

These forces break down the counterforce that every society needs—the counterforce that prevents all power and wealth from ending up in the hands of a few multinationals and the super-rich. Their agenda divides society. We will work together and strengthen that counterforce.

With thousands of people, we will come together on May 24th and turn the radical right-wing tide. Will you join us at Groningen De Straat Op?
