Fanny, a 17-year-old French high school student, goes on an exchange to Germany. In Leipzig, she meets her pen pal Lena, who is the same age as her and is already fully engaged in political activism. To impress Lena, the shy Fanny imagines a different life for herself, but soon she can no longer keep up her lies.
Director Claire Burger created an impressive mise-en-scène with a soundtrack that is just as combative as the young protagonists.
