Haddingestraat 23, 9711 KC GroningenRoseanne Reid creates Americana from the Scottish Highlands, with a voice that sounds as if she’s from the deep American South. Her new album will be released at the end of 2025. Her songs are sincere and heartfelt, drawing influences from folk, country, and soul.
Her smoky voice is reminiscent of Bonnie Raitt and Aimee Mann, but she cites Martha Wainwright as her greatest inspiration. She sings openly about love between women and collaborated on her previous album with Steve Earle, who is also one of her biggest fans. Reid grew up in a musical family — her father is Craig Reid of The Proclaimers — and has performed alongside artists such as Justin Townes Earle.
