Nieuwe Markt 1, 9712KN GroningenStefan Djordjevic planned to make a film about his ailing mother, but after her death he shifted his focus to his entire family. In his moving first feature film, he returns home where he is warmly welcomed by his loved ones.
Stefan Djordjevic looks back on his life as he returns home for his grandmother's 80th birthday. He wanted to make a film about his mother, but she dies and that loss also means the end of his relationship. Once back in the familiar countryside, Stefan finds solace in the rhythms of his native soil. Wind, Talk to Me was initially intended as an autobiographical documentary about his mother, but turned into something very different after her death. Djordjevic creates an intimate and highly personal reflection on grief, resilience and vulnerability with a sincerity that eschews any sentimentality or artificiality. The film is not only an ode to his mother's role in the family, but also a search for all that connects us to each other and to nature.
