Since its opening on May 14, 2024, Bar Frans offers a versatile culinary experience, from breakfast and lunch to dinner and drinks. The interior, designed by Eva Cremers, exudes a timeless and stylish atmosphere with pastel colors, suede bar stools, and stained glass windows. Upon entering, you are welcomed by a beautiful mural by the Groningen art duo VAAF.

The menu at Bar Frans is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist. During the day, you can enjoy dishes such as croque madame, Frans' onion soup, and avocado toast. In the evening, shared dining takes center stage, allowing you to share various small dishes like oysters, crispy pork belly with potato crisps, and celeriac steak.
