This 4K restoration presents Wim Wenders’ heart-rending Berlin City Symphony as a glorious love letter to a city and a time capsule of a bygone era.

Two angels have been observing the unfolding of creation since the beginning of time. Damiel (Ganz) and Cassiel (Sander) are stationed in Berlin, where they listen unnoticed to the thoughts of its inhabitants. One day, Damiel decides that observing is no longer enough; he wants to participate in life as a mortal being. With magnificent images of Berlin before the fall of the Wall, Wenders (Der Amerikanische Freund, Paris, Texas) tells a beautiful, philosophical story full of melancholy and alienation.
