LEMNIS: CONSTELLATIONS

Vrydemalaan 2, 9713 WSConstellations - A Musical Theater Experience
The vocal collective Lemnis creates surprising musical theater with a wide-ranging a cappella repertoire, from Renaissance madrigals to close harmony arrangements.
In their debut performance Constellations, Lemnis takes the audience on a journey through stories and music about the stars from all corners of the world. Since time immemorial, there has been a close relationship between humans and the (stellar) sky. The fascination for this ever-present, utterly unreachable, and constantly changing expanse above us has always served as a source of inspiration.
People believed the sky was the dwelling place of gods or the souls of the deceased. By observing celestial bodies, they thought they could predict the future, or at least were convinced that the stars influenced our earthly existence. Scientists also search the universe for both the origins and the salvation of earthly life.
The music inspired by this ever-present, utterly unreachable, and constantly changing sky compels us now more than ever to look not just upward, but around us. For above all, the heavens and stars still help us find our way back to what is most important: home.
Together with director Zephyr Bruggen, the vocal collective Lemnis explores their own story through the music of Monteverdi, Schumann, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and everything in between. The result is a fully staged a cappella performance that takes you on a journey to the heavens and among the stars.
At DOTliveplanetarium, Lemnis's performance is combined with beautiful projections of the starry sky on the large screen, creating an immersive experience.
