On December 5th, indie heroes Ball Park Music are coming from faraway Down Under to the Far North here at EM2 Groningen! After a massive tour through Australia and New Zealand, they’re making a detour to the Netherlands to showcase their brand-new record Like Love. More than 15 years into their career, everything Ball Park Music does these days feels like a victory lap. The indie darlings from Brisbane have long established themselves as one of Australia’s most beloved and respected bands – with six of their eight albums reaching the top five of the ARIA charts, one debuting at number 1, four of their songs going platinum, and no fewer than a dozen entries in the Hottest 100. Most bands in such a position would be content to rest on the success of their glory days, but if that wasn’t already clear: Ball Park Music is not like most bands… This year, Ball Park Music released another single, ‘Please Don’t Move To Melbourne’, from their new album Like Love, and announced a massive national tour of no less than 30 shows to celebrate their eighth studio album. The album, released in April 2025, debuted at number 1 on the ARIA National Album Charts, number 1 on the ARIA Australian Album Charts, and number 2 on the ARIA Vinyl Album Charts. Alongside the success of Like Love, more good news followed with the big announcement that later this year they’ll be joining Oasis as the support act on their Australian tour.
