Barbecue Pop Punk

I received a barbecue for my birthday. One of those ceramic round barbecues with a thermometer on it. Every morning while making coffee, I gaze longingly out the window at my rain-soaked barbecue and curse the Dutch summer. I can picture it all: wearing short sports shorts, a white shirt with grease stains, a shiny spatula in my right hand, and an ice-cold beer in my left. And the ultimate soundtrack to go with it can only be one: the American pop punk of BBQT. As far as I'm concerned, this band can go straight into the lineup with Death Valley Girls, LA Witch and the Coathangers. No-nonsense songs with a deliciously raw edge thanks to the vocals of the "Dangerous Dame".

On July 3rd, we can at least make part of my dream come true. I can't say if it will finally be nice barbecue weather, but I do know that on July 3rd, I'll be standing in front of BBQT in the Kelderbar with a cold beer in my left hand (I'll leave the spatula at home).
