This is partly due to the formidable reputation the band has built with uncompromisingly intense live shows, as well as their strong DIY ethos. Fans of the post-punk genre will instantly recognize echoes of bands like Joy Division, but IST IST transcends this comparison by infusing their own fresh and modern twist, incorporating refined production work and the addition of electronic elements. IST IST fits well alongside the likes of Interpol, White Lies, and the early work of Editors.

Their debut album ‘Architecture’, released during the pandemic, achieved significant success, followed by the well-received ‘The Art of Lying’. With their third album ‘Protagonists’ and a sold-out tour across the UK and Europe, they solidified their position as leading players in Manchester’s music scene. The live album, recorded during a show in Amsterdam, marks their return in 2024, with even higher expectations for their tenth year, including a performance in the Main Hall of De Oosterpoort!
