The Four Miles is perhaps the most famous running event in Groningen. In 2024, a record number of 23,500 participants will take part, and there are still 1,500 spots available to secure.

There are various 'races', and participants are grouped by category (Competition, Companies, Charity Run, 4Mijl4You, Mini 4 Mijl, Youth Run) with different starting batches. The race begins in the center of Haren and finishes at Vismarkt, covering a total distance of 6.4 KM. Groningen makes it a celebration every year, attracting thousands of spectators who come to cheer on the runners.
