Groningen May Fair

The biggest, most affordable, and tallest fair in the north!

On Thursday, May 7th, the big May Fair kicks off. For no less than 11 days, the vibrant city center of Groningen transforms into a festive celebration for all ages. A wide variety of thrilling and spectacular rides are combined with nostalgic carousels and classic attractions. There is something for everyone.

Affordable fun at the fair

Did you know there is a maximum ride price at the Groningen May Fair? At the Grote Markt and Vismarkt, children’s rides cost a maximum of €3.00, larger attractions €3.50, and some rides €4.50. The Kermis Euro is also back this year. You can receive it at the Groningen market from early May when spending at least €5.00.

Relocation of the nostalgic fair

The nostalgic fair, previously located at the Ossenmarkt, is moving to the north side of the Grote Markt. Here you will find a charming square featuring attractions such as Le Grand Carrousel, the Peter Pan Railway, the hoopla game, and of course the boat carousel with the one and only captain.

Step back in time and enjoy attractions just like your parents and grandparents did. Even the prices reflect this nostalgic atmosphere, as no ride costs more than €2.00.
