Claude Debussy’s Preludes and Images are atmospheric, colorful pieces, impressionist paintings cast in musical form. The Berlage Saxophone Quartet and the Dudok Quartet Amsterdam, two of Holland’s best and most versatile quartets, shed new light on these two piano classics.

Composer and master arranger Max Knigge arranged several movements for the four saxophonists and the four strings and wrote the brand new Interludes. Debussy’s timbres are given a modern counterpart thanks to laser light animations by Dutch-Russian artist Vladimir Grafov, which have also been seen during large-scale outdoor events such as the Amsterdam Dance Event. This transforms the concert hall into an oasis of sound, color, movement and light.
