Drag me to the A

Get swept away in a celebration of boldness, love, and local pride during the drag show Drag me to the A at the A-theater! No fewer than 15 (!) queens from Groningen will bring their most iconic looks, lip-syncs, and live shows — hosted by none other than the legendary Lola Lasagna.

From Friday June 20 to Sunday June 22, Pride Groningen proudly shines again as a city of freedom, acceptance, and inclusion. Educational institutions DC Terra, Hanze, Noorderpoort, and the Museum aan de A are pleased to contribute — they are here for all Groningers, past, present, and future.

Local Drag Queens

The organizers believe in the power of visibility, creativity, and community. That’s why they are intentionally giving the stage to local drag queens: performers who not only bring flair and expression, but also embody stories of courage, connection, and resistance. Especially at a time when queer rights and safety are under renewed pressure, it’s essential to make space for both celebration and protest — right in the heart of the city, among the people.

Celebrating Queer Culture

With this show, we celebrate Groningen’s queer culture in all its colors and forms. The organizers aim to build bridges between generations, between past and future, and between education, art, and society. Because an inclusive city is something we build together — by being visible, vocal, and undeniably present.
