Trompsingel 27, 9724 DA GroningenEd O’Brien, best known as the guitarist for the rock band Radiohead, is coming to Groningen! During ‘An Evening With… Blue Morpho,’ he brings the songs from his second solo album, Blue Morpho, to the stage.
Blue Morpho was born during one of the “most challenging periods” of his life. Songs that emerged from a dark place. But as one of O'Brien’s favorite poets, Wendell Berry, once so beautifully put it: ‘even the dark blooms and sings, and is walked by dark feet and dark wings.’
For ‘An Evening With… Blue Morpho,’ Ed O’Brien is joined by a collective of musicians who played during the album's recording sessions, including musical director Dave Okumu. During this live show, the album is not simply played track by track, but O’Brien delivers a fluid and immersive total experience. A celebration of music, with the band drawing inspiration from the experimental spirit of artists like Sly and the Family Stone, Miles Davis, and Phish.
