One of the founding members of Dire Straits is coming to Groningen! John Illsley, founder and bassist of the legendary British band, returns to the Netherlands for an evening filled with Dire Straits classics. Following a sold-out anniversary tour celebrating Brothers in Arms, he will take the stage at De Oosterpoort next spring, guiding audiences through the iconic band’s remarkable catalogue.

As the bassist, Illsley performed on all of Dire Straits’ studio albums and helped shape the band’s distinctive sound. During this concert, fans can look forward to hits such as Money for Nothing, Walk of Life, So Far Away, and Brothers in Arms. Timeless classics including Sultans of Swing, Romeo and Juliet, Tunnel of Love, and Calling Elvis will also be part of the setlist. It promises to be an evening dedicated to the music of Dire Straits, performed by a musician who was there from the very beginning.
