Moving Futures Festival at Grand Theatre Groningen

Moving Futures Festival is the festival where you experience dance from the newest generation of creators in all its forms. Discover innovative dance from young talent and be surprised by new perspectives and stories. From April 5 to May 26, 2024, Moving Futures will be seen in seven Dutch cities. The festival will conclude on November 12, 13, and 14 at Grand Theatre Groningen. The future of dance can be seen at Moving Futures.

Moving Futures Festival: Experience the Dance of the New Generation

Moving Futures is the festival where you experience dance from the newest generation of creators in all its forms. The festival offers innovative dance annually in seven Dutch cities. Get surprised by the involved, bold, and boundary-breaking dancers and performers of today.

Moving Futures Festival is an initiative of De Nieuwe Oost, ICK Artist Space, DansBrabant, Dansateliers, Korzo, and Grand Theatre Groningen.

With its nationwide network and collaboration with local theatres and partners, the above-mentioned dance houses aim to make a new generation of choreographers visible on a national scale. The Moving Futures network is supported by a shared vision on talent development for the new generation of dance makers. It facilitates a critical dialogue, sharpening methods, identity, thinking, and operating. The network and festival serve as a meeting place for creators, audiences, programmers, and producers. In addition to the programming, the festival offers a rich and framing side program that invites the audience to meet the choreographers in different ways. Through targeted collaboration between the partners and with local theatres and various collaborators, the dance houses strive for visibility and the building of recognition for a new generation of choreographers.
