The Nederlands Blazers Ensemble always brings a fresh breeze. For over sixty years, the group has explored musical adventure together with surprising guests. They have collaborated with Duda Paiva on several occasions, and once again they join forces with the renowned Brazilian theatre maker and puppeteer.

Adem van het woud is a theatrical concert that grew out of a meeting with the Kamayurá, an Indigenous people from the Amazon region. Together with artist and researcher Andreia Duarte, who lived with the Kamayurá for many years, the creators travelled to the Amazon and immersed themselves in the community’s way of life. They listened to stories and music and became acquainted with their worldview.

Inspired by these experiences and the work of Brazilian composer Heitor Villa Lobos, live music, movement and puppetry come together in a performance that makes the interconnectedness of humans and nature tangible.
