Everyone is welcome to join in—whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned musician. The Open Jazz Session at VRIJDAG follows the global tradition of free, inclusive jam sessions.
Musicians take the lead themselves, using classic jazz standards (from the 557 Standards book) as a starting point, though there’s room to explore beyond that. The session is guided by Bert van Erk.
If there are a lot of participants, they’ll take turns playing. Participation is free, but donations are appreciated.
