Itinerary
Start this Pentecost Sunday in Oranjewoud with a thought-provoking concert performance by Pynarello and Joost Oomen. Then walk to Museum Belvédère to climb the roof and immerse yourself in the sounds of the surrounding landscape with a composition installation by Strijbos & Van Rijswijk. Next, choose between an exhilarating tango concert by the Belgian group Sónico or Enescu’s impressive string octet, performed by the Danel and Arod quartets.
Then it’s time for a delicious lunch at Festivalhart de Proeftuin, where klezmer band Di Gojim will be playing. Don’t forget to catch a piece of Een flat met duizend ramen (An apartment with a thousand windows) by the Chaos String Quartet and actress Ariane Schluter, with texts by Joke van Leeuwen. Then you can choose again: between the Netherlands Chamber Choir with ‘Dear Professor’ or a piano recital by Wibi Soerjadi.
After another bite to eat at De Proeftuin, you can attend the location performance An Elegy in the historic Roodbaardtuin garden of the Oranjestein Estate, a performance by cellist Johannes Moser with percussionist Christop Sietzen, or (if you still have time) another part of Duizend ramen with Schluter. The giant ears of Décor Sonore’s Kaleidophones, which allow you to listen to nature from a whole new perspective, are not to be missed.
End the day with an atmospheric concert by Martin Fondse Vocal Orchestra or a sparkling performance by the Polish ThreeX, who will capture your musical heart with their virtuosity and humor.
The program, specially compiled for SPOT by classical music programmer Yoram Ish-Hurwitz, is available exclusively to ticket sellers via SPOT Groningen.
