Pynarello
De Oosterpoort
Trompsingel 27, 9724 DAPynarello immerses you in a brand new musical experience, which begins with the epic explosion of Also Sprach Zarathustra. Big Bang symbolizes the new beginning of artistic director Julian Schneemann, who recently took over from Lonneke van Straalen. Highlights from Richard Strauss’ iconic romantic symphonic poem will lead you through the story of the ancient Persian prophet.
Pynarello fuses different musical genres and art forms into a groundbreaking and sensory experience. Viola player Geerten Feller, jazz saxophonist Kika Sprangers and pianist Julian Schneemann compose brand new pieces inspired by Strauss’ Big Bang. Italian organette player Simone Bottasso and Sinan Arat, master of Turkish ney and song, improvise in a variety of styles from minimal music to jazz and folk music from east and west.
Young visual artist Vincent Rang adds live visuals to the concert. On stage, he points his camera at a small container of water. The image appears many times magnified on a large projection screen. Using ink, floating objects and different lighting, a multifaceted universe of images unfolds. Thus, Big Bang is a unique fusion of sounds and images.
