What if a single voice could grow into a full ensemble? Jazz vocalist Daniel Nikolov (Bulgaria/The Netherlands) invites you into a world where tradition meets innovation. Using live looping, he layers rhythm, harmony, melody and improvisation — all created with his voice — transforming one performer into an entire musical universe.

EP Release: Take Five

This concert celebrates the release of Daniel’s debut EP Take Five, a bold reimagining of five iconic jazz classics. From the rhythmic interplay of Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five” to an ethereal new take on Ornette Coleman’s “Lonely Woman”, each piece becomes fresh, groove-driven and full of unexpected twists, while still honoring its jazz heritage.

About Daniel

For Daniel, the voice is the most personal instrument — a tool for connection, storytelling, improvisation and limitless expression. His journey began at age seven in a children’s vocal ensemble, where he quickly developed a love for harmony and ensemble singing. In high school he discovered jazz and a cappella music, unlocking the vast possibilities of the human voice.

A graduate of the Prins Claus Conservatorium and the New York Jazz program, he studied with renowned vocalists such as JD Walter, Francien van Tuinen, Esra Dalfidan and Marjorie Barnes. His music lives at the crossroads of improvisation, expressive vocal soundscapes and live looping as a creative tool.
