In the early 1970s, bands such as Sweet, Mud, David Bowie, T. Rex, Alice Cooper, and Slade achieved great success with what was then a completely new sound: glam rock. The five flamboyant musicians of The Glamrocks celebrate their love for the genre with a show that is extravagant in every possible way, including glitter and glamorous outfits, of course. Presenter Henkjan Smits shares vivid stories and anecdotes about this extravagant musical era, providing moments of reflection throughout the performance.

The members of The Glamrocks have earned their stripes in the music industry. Toni Peroni and René Meister played in Het Goede Doel, among others. Marcel van den Berg was a singer in the Amstel Live Band. Alfred van der Linden is known from Bintangs, and Rob Smeink from The Beuk Brothers. Henkjan Smits is a judge on major television talent shows such as Idols, X Factor, and Holland’s Got Talent, as well as a producer.
