Trompsingel 27, 9724 DAHackensaw Boys celebrate 20 years of Love What You Do with European tour
In 2025, The Hackensaw Boys will tour Europe to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their album Love What You Do. The record, a rowdy mix of bluegrass, folk and punk, grew to become a classic of americana.
The band, founded in the late 1990s, has had a tumultuous history with numerous lineup changes. Frontman David Sickmen is the constant factor and sees Love What You Do as a milestone: their first release on a label, an album full of energy and joy of playing. Songs like We Are Many grew into anthems because of their powerful message of unity, something Sickmen says “works worldwide-and what our troubled world needs.”
Live, The Hackensaw Boys still provide an intense show, with a sound that is lived-in but has lost none of its power. Their signature percussion instrument, the charismo, remains an essential part of their rousing performances.
