The Underground Orchestra
Bioscoop Zienema Vera
Oosterstraat 44, 9711 NV GroningenHeddy Honingmann, NL 1997
In Heddy Honingmann’s documentary, The Underground Orchestra, he follows several street musicians who earn a living in the tunnels of the Parisian metro. Many of them are excellent, even professional musicians, but exiled from their home countries for various reasons. They talk about their lives, their dreams, the political situation they come from, or the future they hope to create for themselves.
Heddy Honingmann is one of the leading Dutch documentary filmmakers, achieving international fame with films about the resilience of everyday people. Together with Ubbo, we are screening a restored version of the film, which remains just as timeless after almost thirty years.-Lucas
