On the big screen of our brand-new outdoor cinema, Cinema Nova, you can watch the best short Northern films from recent years, curated by the Groningen Archives.

Viewing the screen is free. Want to hear the sound too? Rent headphones (€4) at the entrance of Cinema Nova.

Come watch Doc Night, Animation Night, or Fiction Night and be surprised by Northern creators offering a rich cross-section of recent history, social developments, stories of art and pop music, and pure visual beauty.

And there’s more: every evening from 10 PM, the Groningen Archives take you on a trip down memory lane with historical footage, short films, and clips from their own collection.
