Beautiful minimalist, layered and intimate masterpiece by Belgian filmmaker Bas Devos about a possible love story between a Romanian construction worker and a Belgian-Chinese researcher.

In Brussels, Stefan, a young Romanian construction worker, prepares to drive home for the upcoming summer holidays. As a migrant from the other side of Europe, Stefan feels displaced in Belgium and doesn't know whether he will return. He reminds himself that his insignificant apartment is "home." In a vague attempt to make a connection with his environment, he wanders the streets at night. When he accidentally meets ShuXiu, a professor who researches regional mosses, he makes a sublime detour before going home.

Director Bas Devos delivers an extremely thoughtful film that reflects on the benefits and joys of finding the self in the now. As Stefan and ShuXiu explore lush green spaces threatened by the advancing modern city, the machines in the garden fall silent and the immeasurable beauty of persistent nature comes into sharp focus. This temporary suspension of turbulent future obsessions gives Stefan the opportunity to experience the now. A silent reminder that no matter where we end up, we are always here.
