The always excellent Hugh Grant turns in a fine example of villainy in this taut horror with more unexpected twists than a mountain road. Sister Paxton and Sister Barnes have no idea what to expect when they ring the doorbell of Mr. Reed, a kindly man who seems very interested in Mormonism.

Maestro’s Beck and Woods (A Quiet Place, Haunt) prove once again why they’re at the top of the contemporary genre film charts. They take you on a delightfully wild ride where you never know where it’s going, or how. For fans of theological themes and Barbarian-style insanity, it doesn’t get much better than Heretic.
